Sharing the Good Food Karma

Last Friday, Gail from The Pink Peppercorn deemed appropriate to bestow on me the Excellent Blog award. Gail is a wonderful photographer for a knick for simple and tasty recipes, and it is an amazing honor to be picked in her favorite list! This award is like a Catena di Sant’Antonio- I guess in English it’s called a pyramid scheme?- but with a completely positive spin: I have been gifted with more exposure by fellow bloggers based on a Good Food Karma chain!

Now, my role is to bestow the same award onto following these rules, which I am guessestimating based on my honorable predecessors’ posts (thank you Jo for giving the award to April who gave the award to Gail who sent it on to me!): Pick five blogs you like in your field who haven’t received the award before, notify the authors you’re giving them Good Food Karma and write up why you like their blogs! Pretty simple, right? So, despite the fact that Jo and Gail and April already incorporated some amazing favorite food bloggers in their chain, I have some amazing authors up my sleeve:

No Salad as a Meal

1. Haas at No Salad as a Meal makes wonderful reviews of amazing restaurants with incredible pictures. Is this enough superlatives for you yet?

The Shot Coffee Ratings

2. Greg of TheShot.CoffeeRatings.com- a scrupolous rating of San Francisco (and beyond!) coffees with a rating of each cup of espresso? Okay, this is just my cup of tea- ehm, coffee. Greg never misses, and on top of this he’s also a fellow grappa lover. He’s my person!

Frantic Home Cook

3. Francie at Frantic Home Cook- I love her recipes written over the pictures, and the step-by-step instructions are just what I need to venture into American-style cooking. And such a sense of aesthetics!

4. Anita and Cameron at Married with Dinner- again, wonderful photography and no-nonsense writing about local foods and the San Francisco food scene.

5. Wendy at The Jaded Palate- Wendy is incredibly smart and witty and opinionated about her food. That I really like! Snapshot reviews under 100 words that bring home the point within the range of my limited attention span!

If you have picked up a theme at all, it is probably my camera-envy from some (or all!) of the above blogs! Thank you all for being such a wonderful inspiration and a great read on my daily food blog tour! Now it’s your turn: who is going to make your Good Food Karma list?

  1. wow, thank you! What an honor… and four new (to me) blogs to check out, too. :)

  2. Your blog is amazing Anita, so it’s my way of saying Thank you for all the hours of wonderful writing and photography you have given me! :)
BTW, what camera do you use?

  3. I shoot most of the blog photos with a Canon 30D and a 100mm macro/portrait lens. Some of the cocktail shots — and most of the on-location photos — use the 50mm f1.4 lens. The occasional snapshot from my Canon A710is point-and-shoot still sneak in, now and again.

  4. you deserve this award for sure… you have a great blog here :) I hope you don’t mind that I’ve linked to you… I usually like to ask before doing so.
