A Bad Food Week
I have to apologize, but this was a fairly bad food week. I have tried a couple of places in the South Bay that were on my list of “to go places”, and I always walked out disappointed. In fact, I didn’t have terrible meals, it was just that for one reason or another their food was not what I try to review here, authentic Italian food. It was either the menu in general and the presence of Alfredo sauce, the misspellings, or the fact that a secondo (a meat dish) was served with a side of pasta (really?), but in the end I did not find a restaurant good enough- or original enough!- to review this week. In fact, the one siding pasta with meat was pretty good, it just wasn’t as Italian as I had wanted it to be…
A few things to be saved…
* A great espresso in one place;
* The focaccia and the original Faenza ceramics decor in a second place;
* A chewy pizza, but with amazing toppings, in a third place.
Hopefully next week!

So, why don’t you tell us where in the South Bay you had these experiences worth of being “saved”?
Well, that would be flirting with the terms of my editorial policy. http://www.italyinsf.com/editorial-policy/
You can email me and I will tell you- vanessa at italyinsf dot com!
I see nothing in your editorial policy that prevents you from posting information on places where you liked the food. And that’s precisely what the “A few things to be saved…” section of your post is about.
